Congratulations on registering interest for NATIONAL PT@WORK DAY and for being a personal trainer who is committed to making the difference to the health of the workplaces in your local community. We have been receiving event registrations every day that are extremely exciting and I'm very much looking forward to finding out more about you and how you would like to be involved in the great event.

The role of the AIPT is to provide input into your event to ensure that it is a success and that you achieve the outcomes that you want.  I have detailed below a PUBLICITY SUCCESS KIT that outlines the activities that you can undertake to promote your event.

Once you have read through this, please give Todd Howard a call on 1300 13 84 34 or email him at todd@aipt.com.au to update him on the progress of arranging your event and you can talk through any queries that you may have.  Thank you for joining us in our mission to raise the profile of personal training in Australia and I look forward finding out how you have made a difference to your community.

Yours in personal training,
Paul Timms

The following information has been developed to help ensure that your Personal Training at Work event is a success:

Step 1.      Create a List of 10 Workplaces that you would like to approach about getting involved in a Personal Training at Work Program on July 8.  To create this list, start with your existing Personal Training clients, friends and family's workplaces and workplaces in your local area.

Step 2.      Create a brief information flyer on the opportunity and outline up to 3 options that the workplace might like to select for the day.  For example:  Morning Warm Up, Lunch Time Mini Seminar or Mid Afternoon Energiser (15 minute activity break).  Keep it short and simple so that the employer finds it easy to say "yes".  The intention here is to get your foot in the door and expose as many people to you and personal training as possible.

3.      Create the opportunity for a limited number of workplaces and have interested organisations complete a "booking form" so that they are committed to the event.

4.      Promote the day within local media, and through existing advertising and media to gain added attention.  Make sure that you also provide an offer to other individuals and organisations who may be interested in your business.  Send out a media release to your local community newspaper. The media release must be addressed to the right journalist. Depending on your project it will be the sport, health or social editor.

5.      Deliver the activity and make sure you have plenty of promotional material and collect the names and contact details of all participants as leads.  Book a follow up consultation with the manager or business owner to review the initiative and offer any further ongoing workplace fitness programs.
